Scapegoating Gays To Cover Up Administrative Cover-up of Child Sexual Abuse
There has been an attempt by many to claim that the Catholic priesthood is composed of homosexual pedophiles. They ignore the fact that not only are homosexuality and pedophilia completely different things, but that the sex of a pedophile's victim is based more upon availablity than the sex of the child. There is also an attempt to claim that ALL the victims were boys.
Not only are not all Catholic Priest pedophiles, but a good many of those pedophile priests abused girls.
While Priests have much more access to boys than girls (altar boys being the favorite target), there are plenty of incidents where they have molested girls as well. Here are a few:
"A former youth pastor, Kimball faces more than eight years in prison if convicted of raping a 14-year-old girl behind the altar of a Santa Rosa chapel in 1977 and molesting a 13-year-old girl in 1981 at St. John's Rectory in Healdsburg. Closing arguments were expected to begin Wednesday. "
"Monsignor Russell L. Dillard, 54, pastor of the 143-year-old St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church for 12 years, was placed on leave after the two women, who are sisters, came forward this month to accuse him of having kissed and touched them inappropriately from 1979 to 1984, archdiocesan officials said yesterday. "
It is not limited to Catholics. This one is about a Jehova's Witness.
"The suit was filed last week in Washington state Civil Court by a 23-year-old California woman who suffered years of abuse by a church elder who was convicted last August of molesting her.
The suit claims victim Erica Rodriguez told church leaders about the sexual advances of elder Manuel Beliz - but was told to "not say anything."
"Rodriguez was molested by Beliz from age 4 to 11, while living in Washington state. "
Where there is more access to females, religious leaders abuse females rather than males. Pedophiles generally do nnot care that much about the sex of their victims. It is just a matter of demonstrating power, while abusing trust. This article covers abuse among protestants, and Baptists.
"The evangelical newsmagazine World responded to the sexual-abuse crisis among Catholic clergy with a recent cover story advising "parental discretion" and warning readers of "offensive material."
"The Protestant church has a severe problem of its own: some pastoral counselors having sex with counselees," World reported.
Reports suggest that while most Catholic cases involve homosexual priests latching onto young boys, Protestant cases tend to be ministers preying on women."
"Instances of pedophilia have occurred in the Episcopal Church," the Episcopal News Service reported. A church school in Charleston, S.C., reached a $105 million settlement over abuse by a lay teacher, and in 1991 a woman won a $1.2 million ruling against the bishop of Denver over an errant priest."
"Mr. Lundin said research on Protestant clergy shows a growing problem with Internet pornography and that Christian leaders reared with "a sinful emphasis" on sex can become more obsessed with its temptations."
